辨析：whether 与 if

if/ whether引导宾语从句时，if/ whether意为是“是否”，常用在ask、wonder、want to know、can (could) you tell me等之后。

如：I want to know if/whether he is right. 我想知道他是否是对的。

Note：只能用whether不能用if的情况：

（1）在介词后面：

●I'm thinking of whether we should go fishing. 我在想我们是否应该去钓鱼。

（2）在动词不定式前：

●They asked me whether to go skating. 他们问我是否去滑冰。

（3）宾语从句提前时：

●Whether he can come or not,I don't know. 他能不能来，我不知道。
