1.another 意为“别的；另一个”，泛指众多中的一个，一般后面接单数名词，前面不加定冠词。

●This book is too difficult for me. Will you please give me another one?

2.the other 表示两个中的一个，常与 one 连用，one...the other...。

●I have two brothers. One is a teacher,and the other one is a doctor.

我有两个兄弟。一个是老师，另一个是医生。

3.other +名词=others（别的）

●Some students are doing their homework,and others are reading.

一些学生正在做作业，其他的学生正在阅读。

4.the other+名词=the others(其余的，相当于 the rest)

●Some of the students are from the north. The others are from the south.
