现在进行时表示现在正在进行的动作。标志词有now,atthemoment(此刻)，listen!Look!，以及一些暗示句子中的动作正在发生的词或句子。

现在进行时肯定句的结构是:主语+be+doing〔现在分词〕形式。be应为助动词,初学者最容易漏掉,它应与主语的人称和数保持一致.

肯定句变一般疑问句：

直接把be动词提前(注意人称和数的变化例如：Iam…要变成Areyou…?)。

肯定句变否定句：

直接在be动词后加not(isnot可简写为isn’t,arenot可简写为aren’t但是amnot不能简写)

注意：有些动词不用于现在进行时：like,love,want,need,hear,see,smell(闻)，sound（听起来）,forget,remember,understand(明白)等

现在分词变化规则

1.直接+ing。Talk-talking,cook-cooking

2.去e+ing.Come-coming,dance-dancing

3.重读闭音节,且末尾只有1个辅音字母,双写辅音字母+ing.stop-stopping,run-running,swim-swimming

4.特殊变化:die-dying,lie-lying,tie-tying
